Great Langdale is one of the real gems in the Lake District. From Skelwith Bridge and Elterwater in the east to Dungeon Ghyll in the west, it is a haven of peace and beauty (ignoring the slate mine naturally). At the end of Great Langdale the valley splits into two, Oxendale and one of the finest valleys of all - Mickleden.
